About the Role
We are seeking a Business Support Officer – Procurement to join our dynamic Finance, Resource and Procurement team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong financial administration skills and a keen interest in procurement to contribute to the delivery of high-quality services across the Trust.
You will play a key role in supporting procurement processes, managing financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with procurement regulations. The successful candidate will also receive support to work towards a recognised procurement qualification, helping you grow your career in this vital area.
Key Responsibilities
- Use SAP and other financial systems to raise and process invoices, maintain vendor data, and manage payments.
- Support procurement activities, including setting up external and internal vendors, and processing miscellaneous and ongoing payments.
- Monitor and resolve payment discrepancies, including underpayments and overpayments.
- Promote and manage BACs payments, and support emergency payment processes when required.
- Provide accurate and timely financial information to managers and budget holders.
- Ensure procurement practices align with public sector regulations and value-for-money principles.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement and financial support services.
About You
- Experienced in financial administration or procurement support roles.
- Proficient in using financial software and systems (e.g., SAP, ContROCC).
- Skilled in Excel and confident handling numerical data.
- Organised, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- A strong communicator with a collaborative approach.
- Committed to professional development – and ready to work towards a procurement qualification with our support.
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of public sector procurement rules.
- Experience working in a finance or procurement environment.
- Understanding of local government finance and service delivery.
