Salary: Band 7, £28,142 – 31,022 - (SCP 11 – 17)

37 hours Permanent Contract – may consider job share

Flexible working, outside office hours, is expected. This includes evenings and weekends.

Location – Bradford City Centre


An exciting opportunity has arisen within Bradford Youth Justice Service (YJS) to make a positive impact on children and families in Bradford. Bradford Youth Justice Service (YJS) is a dynamic, positive organisation that has won several awards for the innovative work they have undertaken with children.

The Service is looking for a permanent Restorative Practitioner who will ensure Bradford YJS follows the Code of Practice for Victims of Crime in England and Wales. Develop and deliver work with victims of crime and anti-social behaviour committed by children working with the Bradford YJS.  Ensure the impact on the victims and their views are included in assessments, relevant meetings and decision panels. Help to reduce reoffending by children and young people by providing positive opportunities for them to understand the impact of their behaviour on others. Offer and facilitate Restorative Justice opportunities for children and victims.

You will work within the statutory provisions of the Criminal Justice framework undertaking a key role within the service.

You will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Level 3 qualification, ideally in a relevant subject such as psychology, criminology, criminal justice or social studies
  • GCSE in maths and English (grade C or 4 and above) or equivalent.
  • Experience and expertise in working with people in a supportive role.
  • Experience of creating and maintaining good working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience of directly working with children (aged 10 to 18)
  • Experience of/ ability to undertake assessments of risk and suitability to conduct restorative opportunities.
  • Have a full UK driving licence, unless a disability prevents this, and be able to travel across the Bradford district
