Social Worker (Family Help Team)

Salary: PO1-3, SCP 27-35, £38,220 - £46,142 per annum, Permanent, 37 hours per week, Based in Bradford District or Keighley.

About the Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children? We are looking for talented individuals to join our Family Help team in Bradford to strengthen families and help shape the future of young lives.

Families Help is part of national reform work as part of the Families First Programme and seeks to enable change in the way that children and families at Child in Need level are supported. This includes reducing transition points and sticking with families when a relationship has been established. The ethos of Family Help is to work to effect positive change and avoid statutory escalation.

To be successful in this role you will need: 

  • A DIPSW or equivalent qualification and are registered with the Social Work England as a qualified social worker.
  • A full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes - adjustments can be considered for candidates with a disability.
  • Expertise in managing the delivery of quality outcomes for children and young people.
  • An ability to build strong relationships with children, their families, colleagues and partner agencies. 
  • An ability to write high-quality reports and assessments and analyse information effectively.
  • Experience of managing a caseload in a statutory setting, with ability to problem solve, negotiate and manage conflict.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, for positive engagement with children and families and productive relationship building in a multi-agency environment.
  • Offer some consultation and guidance within the Family Help team where needed.
