Senior Business Support Finance Officer (Children’s Services)

Salary: SO1 - Job Evaluation Pending - S01 

Location: Various locations across Children’s Services (Bradford, Keighley and Shipley)

About the Role

This is a senior Business Support role providing specialist financial oversight, assurance and leadership within Children’s Services. The postholder will act as the lead point of expertise for finance processes and systems, quality-assure complex financial activity and support the development of other Business Support staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and quality assurance of complex and high-value financial activity
  • Authorise and validate financial transactions within delegated limits
  • Act as finance systems champion for the service
  • Coordinate and quality-check finance work across Business Support teams
  • Act as first point of escalation for complex or high-risk finance issues
  • Support audits, inspections and assurance activity
  • Produce and analyse financial and performance information
  • Identify and lead improvements to finance processes and controls

About You

You will have substantial experience in a Business Support role with significant finance responsibilities, strong knowledge of financial regulations, and the ability to provide guidance and assurance to others.
